Perplexity supports custom connectors on its paid plans — connect Zamino once and you can ask questions about your business numbers right alongside Perplexity's web answers.
The connection is read-only. Perplexity can look at your data through a small set of safe, bounded tools — it can never change anything.
Step-by-step setup
- Add the custom connector
In Perplexity, open your Account settings → Connectors and click + Custom connector. Choose Remote (a hosted server) and fill in:
- Name:
Zamino - MCP Server URL:
https://api.zamino.com/mcp - Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 — leave Client ID/Secret empty; Zamino supports automatic discovery
Check the acknowledgement box and click Add.

- Authenticate
Click the new Zamino card on the Connectors screen to start sign-in.
Use the same email address as your Zamino account. The first time through you'll set a password for external AI access and verify your email — this is a separate sign-in from the Zamino app itself, used only by AI clients.
- Approve the connection inside Zamino
For security, no AI app gets access to your data until you approve it inside Zamino. Open app.zamino.com, go to Settings → External AI Access, find the pending request, and click Approve.
External AI Access approval coming soonZamino's Settings → External AI Access page showing a pending connection with an Approve button - Ask your first question
Enable the Zamino connector in your search sources, then ask:
- "What were my top 5 expense categories last quarter?"
- "List unpaid invoices over $1,000."

A note on privacy
Query results flow into your Perplexity account under your plan terms with Perplexity. Zamino sends nothing on its own — data moves only when you ask. Revoke access any time in Settings → External AI Access.
