Le Chat (Mistral) supports custom MCP connectors with automatic auth detection. Connect Zamino once and Le Chat can answer questions grounded in your business numbers.
The connection is read-only. Le Chat can look at your data through a small set of safe, bounded tools — it can never change anything.
Step-by-step setup
- Add the custom connector
In Le Chat, open the Connectors page, click + Add Connector, and switch to the Custom MCP Connector tab. Fill in:
- Connector name:
zamino(no spaces or special characters) - Server URL:
https://api.zamino.com/mcp - Description (optional): Ask questions about your business data
Le Chat auto-detects the authentication method — for Zamino that's OAuth 2.1. Click Connect.
Le Chat custom MCP connector form coming soonLe Chat's custom MCP connector tab with the zamino name and server URL filled in - Connector name:
- Sign in when Le Chat redirects you
Use the same email address as your Zamino account. The first time through you'll set a password for external AI access and verify your email — this is a separate sign-in from the Zamino app itself, used only by AI clients.
- Approve the connection inside Zamino
For security, no AI app gets access to your data until you approve it inside Zamino. Open app.zamino.com, go to Settings → External AI Access, find the pending request, and click Approve.
External AI Access approval coming soonZamino's Settings → External AI Access page showing a pending connection with an Approve button - Allow the tools and ask
Back in Le Chat, open Connectors → My Connectors → Zamino → Functions and toggle Always allow on the tools (or approve each call manually). Then ask:
- "What were my top 5 expense categories last quarter?"
- "List unpaid invoices over $1,000."
Troubleshooting
A note on privacy
Query results flow into your Le Chat conversation under your Mistral account and plan terms. Zamino sends nothing on its own — data moves only when you ask. Revoke access any time in Settings → External AI Access.
