How do I connect File feeds to AI?
Attaching a spreadsheet to a chat gets you one answer, once — the AI forgets the file when the chat ends, and it can't compare this month's export to last year's. Zamino turns the file into a permanent source in three moves:
- Connect File feeds to Zamino in a few clicks.
- Zamino organizes your full File feeds history into one clean, AI-ready dataset.
- Link ChatGPT or Claude and ask your file data anything in plain English.
How Zamino connects File feeds to your AI
File feeds's data is locked behind an API and shallow built-in reports. Zamino pulls it out, organizes it, and makes it instantly askable by any AI.

Zamino organizes it

Ask anything
Question your data in plain English.
Ask a real question. Get a real analysis.
This is one question, answered across your whole File feeds history — the kind no built-in report can touch.
Your average rate barely moved, so this isn't wage inflation. Beta's kitchen is chronically short about 1.5 shifts a week and covers it with overtime at 1.5×. Adding one part-time kitchen shift at Beta would cost roughly $620/week and displace about $1,050/week of overtime.
Example output. Try your own: “Which employees are closest to overtime this week?” · “Compare labor % of sales by location, month over month” · “What did we pay in overtime premium last quarter?”
Can't ChatGPT just connect to File feeds?
Not in a way that actually works. Here's the difference between a live connector and Zamino.

Connecting File feeds to AI — common questions
What file types can I send?
CSV, Excel (.xlsx), PDF and Word (.docx) — plus plain text and the body of the email itself. Spreadsheets are parsed directly; PDFs and Word documents are read by AI, so even a report that was only ever designed to be printed becomes queryable data.
Do I have to map the columns myself?
No. Zamino reads the first file, proposes what every column means, and shows you a full dry run — how many rows parse cleanly, what gets skipped and why. You review and approve it once, and every future file imports automatically with no AI guessing at your numbers.
What happens when the file's format changes?
The file is held, not guessed at. If a column disappears or a new one shows up, Zamino quarantines that file, proposes an updated mapping against your existing one, and tells you — so a silently changed export can never corrupt your history.
What if I send the same file twice?
Nothing is duplicated. Each row gets a stable identity from the fields that make it unique, so a re-sent or corrected file updates the rows it already delivered instead of double-counting them.
Can my accountant or a vendor send files directly?
Yes — add their address to the feed's allow-list and they can send straight to it. Anything from an address you haven't approved is parked for review and never touches your data.
Does this work with reports my software emails on a schedule?
That's the ideal setup. Point your tool's scheduled report at the feed's address — or set a forwarding rule in Gmail or Outlook — and the data lands in Zamino without anyone touching it.
Can ChatGPT or Claude connect to File feeds directly?
Not in a useful way. Out of the box, neither ChatGPT nor Claude can access your File feeds data or analyze your history on its own. Even with a live connector they'd see one source at a time and re-fetch data on every question — slow, rate-limited, and unable to handle months of history. Zamino solves this by syncing and organizing your File feeds data so any AI can query it instantly.
Is it safe to connect File feeds to AI?
Yes. Each feed has its own private address with an allow-list, so only people you name can send to it. Nothing is imported until you approve the mapping Zamino proposes, and if a file's format later changes it is held for review rather than guessed at. Files are encrypted at rest, isolated to your business, and you can export or delete everything at any time.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Connecting File feeds is a few clicks, and asking questions is just plain English in the AI app you already use. There are no spreadsheets, exports, or formulas.
Does this work with Claude as well as ChatGPT?
Yes. Zamino gives you one secure connection that works in ChatGPT, Claude, or both — bring whichever AI you prefer. The same connection also lets you add other tools like QuickBooks and Stripe later.
How much does it cost?
Your first connected source is free on every plan, so you can connect File feeds and start asking questions at no cost. Paid plans add more sources and teammates — we never charge per record, and asking questions is always included.
